Re-Do the Greenway Re-Paving

The Midtown Greenway Coalition called for the first section of the trail to be re-paved several years ago, and successfully got the repaving added to the City budget.  The trail was finally repaved in 2021, but it did not go well.  The resulting trail surface ended up WAY too rough, with bumps and dangerous gaps, as well as entire sections that were missed.

We asked Public Works to re-do the re-paving, but they would not commit to doing it over.  So, we launched a petition and public effort to get them to change their minds.  It worked!

THANKS to the more than 2,000 people who signed our petition, Minneapolis Public Works finally agreed to re-do the re-pave!   It was repaved the week of September 12, 2022, and it worked great!  (Not like the photo below, which is of the botched repaving.)
