It's TWO events in ONE:  a FREE all-night ART FESTIVAL, and a night BIKE RIDE to raise funds for the Midtown Greenway.

Northern Spark on the Greenway Artists & Installations

Take the Field at Kix Field
Take the Field expands the participatory nature of sports by creating a giant art event for the athletic field.

Location: Kix Field. On the Greenway near 4th and 5th Avenues.

Presented by: Midtown Greenway Coalition in partnership with Forecast Public Art.

Transportation Evolution                                                                                                                                Create an evolving work of art that reflects the physical paths taken to get there.

Sound Observation
Explore harmonic sounds and lighting effects through 30+ large-scale tubular chimes and LED lights, activated by the audience.

Location: On the Greenway under the Colfax Avenue bridge in Uptown; near the bottom of the Bryant Avenue ramp to the Greenway (West side). Near Elan Uptown Apartments.

Pedal Bear (mobile project)
The Pedal Bear is a giant bear-puppet bike powered by 10 riders. Part pedal pub, part puppet with movable head, jaw and tail, take a ride and enjoy the night as it moves along the Greenway.

Twin Cities String Academy

Our favorite young violinists will be playing a prelude to the Greenway Glow ride as artists are checking in and riders are rallying. Featuring the Sting Academy's special kick-off song - "Bicycle Race" by Queen!

Flicker & Spore
Flicker & Spore will activate the space below a Greenway bridge by creating an interactive playground/installation with moss and light.

Pomp (mobile project)
Help create a light sculpture that displays our expressions and stories. Individual contributions turn into collected strands, which move and evolve as they travel down the Greenway.

11 p.m. – 12:30 a.m. Soo Line Gardens on the Greenway, between Garfield Ave. S. and Harriet Ave. S. One block East of Lyndale. Parade at 12:30 a.m.
