Volunteer with the Coalition
The Midtown Greenway Coalition has many upcoming events that are in need of volunteers! Please read through the following opportunities, and send a message to the email address posted after the event if you are interested in volunteering or have any questions.
Gardening Volunteers Needed on the Greenway
(theresa@midtowngreenway.org)
The plantings along the Midtown Greenway need some attention. The weeds are taking over and we must tackle them while we can. Join us some weed pulling fun!
- Tuesday, July 20th, 6:00 p.m. Plantings near the Smith Foundry....many volunteers are needed for this one, bike by and see for yourself. Yikes!
- Tuesday, July 27th, 6:00 p.m Plantings on the south side of the trail in front of the Midtown Bike Center
Greenway Challenge
Saturday September 25th, three hour shifts from 1-9pm
(lauren@midtowngreenway.org)
Help us support and cheer on participants of the first annual
bike-a-thon in the Greenway. The day will be filled with a number
of ways to help out. Mark your calendars and we'll find a job for you.
Tabling on the Greenway
Saturdays May through August, 12-3pm
(lauren@midtowngreenway.org)
Many users of the Greenway are not aware of our work and are not
members of our organization; help change that by spreading the word
about all of our programs and important advocacy.
Ongoing:
- Tabling
- Newsletter Distribution
- Greenway Glass Sweeper
- Adopt a Greenway
- Trail Watch
- Office work- preparing mailings, organizing, data entry, etc.
- Attend safety committee and land use and transit committee meetings (check the calendar for updates)
If you are interested in any of the ongoing opportunities, e-mail Lauren@midtowngreenway.org, or call at 612-879-0106. |
