Progressive Dinner Fundraiser on the Greenway a Big Success
By Aaron Shaffer
Minneapolis, MN– Did you notice large crowds of bikers in the Lake of the Isles region and along the Midtown Greenway on Sunday, September 7th? That was the date of 2014’s Progressive Dinner, an annual fundraiser for the Midtown Greenway Coalition. The event involves bikes, food, and beer (with some wine options, as well); which helps its popularity. Seventy riders combined with quite a few volunteers to eat at three stops near and along the Midtown Greenway.
The Midtown Greenway Coalition was able to raise $3510 through the event; money which helps fund their Trail Watch safety patrol, among other valuable programs that help keep the Midtown Greenway clean and green.
Soren Jensen, executive director of the Midtown Greenway Coalition, had nothing but good things to say about the event. "We had a wonderful Progressive Dinner on the Greenway. The weather was perfect, and the food was excellent. Special thanks to all of our riders and volunteers, and especially our sponsors," said Jensen.
